We gonna make some Change...^^

Super sorry I left this blog deserted for a while...

As you could find out there are more than a thousand pics showed up in our Flickr album, those are our sweetest memories with our dear friends in the Villages this year, I still had no time to compile and sort them into proper catogories, may got time later...XD

I am going start another blog, which will focus on next year's activities, and our members from the past 2 years will share their stories there, too.

Also I should update our schedule for the coming year.

BTW, this program is no longer under the direction and assistance of the Tien Culture Foundation, Taipei, Taiwan...We are going to plan everything on our own, and we will have to raise funds ourselves, but we will not waste any penny of others' kindness.

Soon as the new blog start, I will update it on our Mybloglog page,

See you soon!

Snail Update, but with MAJOR CHANGE

Hallo~Hallo~It's been a long long time since our last update, I'm sorry that I, the person should work hard as he could to maintain this blog, got trapped by all-that-school-stuff.

SO, we do have something to announce which had been due for a while...

WE are NOT going to Chu-bing(曲冰) Village this summer, that's really really a pity for all of us. Why? 'Cause we are short of volunteers, Why? Because 3 Villages altered their summer camp plan, changed the time and shortened the days. Now all activities will be starting from 7/12 to 7/29, training program included.

We don't blame them (though we do feel a little... anyway ^^) . We have recruited 15 Taiwanese college students, but now there's 9 remained, as for oversea friends, sorry, see you next year~

So that's it. Brief and supposedly clear to all of you. Program will be held from 7/12~7/29, we are not going to Chu-bing, and I will still try my very best to bring you the most up-to-date news about our program.

Starting Next Week, I promise I will blog as diligent as I could, and show you how hard our members prepare for their wonderful journey.

Stay tuned...

We'll be right back!

Chu-Bing(曲冰)Photo Set Completed !

I said SOON but it seemed I'm still not able to make it early enough getting all the words below these Photos finished. Anyway, the very first Photo Set is for Chu-Bing Village(曲冰), I got no bias here though, only because we took less photos at Chu-Bing, so it's lots easier for me to add all the descriptions.

BTW, this is the very first time for our Service Group/Program to stay and help out in this village, and there should be more to explore for our team members there. We met Teacher Ma (photo above) in Chu-Bing, and she's also our contact at Chu-Bing, she's super kind a lady indeed.

We have some brief discussions about our program there, and knowing there will also be some students from Fu Jen Catholic University (a Catholic Uni. in Taipei County) to help them(the village) with the Bible Class this summer, and team members there should work hand in hand with them to design Bible Class and maybe other activities, too. Except for what been mentioned above, everything else would be the same in all villages. (means we are not sure if there will also be students from Fu Jen C. U. in other 2 villages)

More detailed schedule of our program is now underway with our program organizer 涵甄(Han-jen) working hard on it.

So plz take few deep breath and find out more Photos and intros from our Flickr Photo Set here.

Program's Time A Done Deal !

pictures of our meetings with folks from three village (to the right,Wu-Jie, Goh-Ken, Chu-Bing)

Yeah~ We have finally set the time frame for our Service and Learning Program This Year, which will be from 7/20~8/13.

For first 3 Days, we'll be at Saint Ignatius High School (徐匯中學), Taipei County, for our training program, there we will have all our members break the ice with each other, taking a few courses from Bunun Tribe's culture to CPR. (Lots to learn indeed.)

Afterwards, on the morning of Jul. 22, we will head for three village(into 3 teams), they are Wu-Jie(武界), Goh-Ken(過坑) and Chu-Bing(曲冰), all in Nan-tou County, Central Taiwan, for our 3 weeks' service and learning program. Basically , we are going to help our Formosa indigenous friends with their Bible Class, and many other activities.

At the end of the program(8/11~8/13, TBD), we will get together again in Wu-Jie Village for the Annual Tri-Village Gathering, where we gonna have lots of fun and say farewell with our dear friends.

That's a way-too-brief introduction of our program. Anyway, if you got further inquiries, plz don't be shy and write in to me and I will write back with detailed information as fast as I could. More detailed introductions of 3 Village are on their way here. SOON

The Blog: Why is it called Teachers(老師)?

Last Year's Team Members Group Pic in Wu-Jie Village
Dear Blog Readers:

As many of you (senior members, long as you been here once you're senior enough to be senior ^^) may recalled, what are we called by Children when we were back there? I were to name the blog "Unofficial weblog of blahblahblah..." But it dawned upon me, that definitely not enough to represent us. Consequently, it's named "Teachers" or in Mandarin "老師".
So, to clarify, in case new comers get confused, this is the blog for this year's (hopefully, next year, too, or many more years to come) summer service camp to 3 aborigine villages in Nantou County ,central Taiwan, they are Goh-Ken (過坑), Wu-Jie(武界) and Chu-Bing(曲冰).

Here in this blog, we share. Share whatever happened , happening , will happen in between us, us included we fellow TEACHERS, CHILDREN, and whole lots other FRIENDS, it's so unlimited!

More should be service camp's NEWS, DEVELOPMENTS, and SCHEDULES.

Cheers,

by Casper the "should be" blog master 4/8 2007, I guess it's Easter...^^
